The Besov Space B^{{0,1}}_{1} on Domains

Let Ω be a bounded Lipschitz domain. Define B ^0,1 _{1, r} (Ω) = {f∈L ¹ (Ω): there is an F∈B ^0,1 ₁ (ℝ ⁿ ) such that F|_Ω = f} and B ^0,1 _{1 z} (Ω) = {f∈B ^0,1 ₁ (ℝ ⁿ ) : f = 0 on ℝ ⁿ \}. In this paper, the authors establish the atomic decompositions of these spaces. As by-products, the authors obtained the regularity on these spaces of the solutions to the Dirichlet problem and the Neumann problem of the Laplace equation of ℝ ⁿ ₊. A convergence theorem for the Newton-like methods under some kind of weak Lipschitz conditions

We provide sufficient conditions for the convergence of the Newton-like methods in the assumption that the derivative satisfies some kind of weak Lipschitz conditions. Consequently, some important convergence theorems follow from our main result in this paper.     

An <Emphasis Type="Italic">L</Emphasis><Subscript><Emphasis Type="Italic">p</Emphasis></Subscript>-Theory of SPDEs on Lipschitz Domains

Stochastic partial differential equations are considered on Lipschitz domains. Existence and uniqueness results are given in weighted Sobolev spaces, and Hölder estimates of the solutions are also obtained. The number of derivatives of the solutions can be any real number, in particular, it can be negative and fractional. It is allowed that the coefficients of the equations blow up near the boundary.     

The convergence analysis of inexact Gauss–Newton methods for nonlinear problems

In this paper, inexact Gauss–Newton methods for nonlinear least squares problems are studied. Under the hypothesis that derivative satisfies some kinds of weak Lipschitz conditions, the local convergence properties of inexact Gauss–Newton and inexact Gauss–Newton like methods for nonlinear problems are established with the modified relative residual control. The obtained results can provide an estimate of convergence ball for inexact Gauss–Newton methods.     

On Lipschitz and D.C. surfaces of finite codimension in a Banach space

Properties of Lipschitz and d.c. surfaces of finite codimension in a Banach space and properties of generated σ-ideals are studied. These σ-ideals naturally appear in the differentiation theory and in the abstract approximation theory. Using these properties, we improve an unpublished result of M. Heisler which gives an alternative proof of a result of D. Preiss on singular points of convex functions.     

Truncations of multilinear Hankel operators

We extend to multilinear Hankel operators the fact that some truncations of bounded Hankel operators are still bounded. We prove and use a continuity property of bilinear Hilbert transforms on products of Lipschitz spaces and Hardy spaces.

     

A weak Kantorovich existence theorem for the solution of nonlinear equations

The Kantorovich theorem is a fundamental tool in nonlinear analysis for proving the existence and uniqueness of solutions of nonlinear equations arising in various fields. This theorem was weakened recently by Argyros who used a combination of Lipschitz and center-Lipschitz conditions in place of the Lipschitz conditions of the Kantorovich theorem. In the present paper we prove a weak Kantorovich-type theorem that gives the same conclusions as the previous two results under weaker conditions. Illustrative examples are provided in the paper.     

Calculus Rules for Derivatives of Multimaps

In this paper, by virtue of two intermediate derivative-like multifunctions, which depend on an element in the intermediate space, some exact calculus rules are obtained for calculating the derivatives of the composition of two set-valued maps. Similar rules are displayed for sums. Moreover, by using these calculus rules, the solution map of a parametrized variational inequality and the variations of the feasible set of a parametrized mathematical programming problem are studied.
